It seems as if this unending winter (there were snow flurries yesterday) has reminded me of haiku. This one is purely of the Japanese form with the first two complete lines giving way to the third line, which details the season. Though a true haiku could contain anywhere from 11-19 syllables I chose to stay with the 5-7-5 construct. Send summer, my feet are going to be cold until at least the end of July.

Wow. You and haiku... is the world coming to an end? With this weather, maybe it is.
ReplyDeletethose robins might be carnivorous too
ReplyDeleteOnly if they were locally born and bred Charles--it has been a particularly violent month here in the city. Capped off with a woman who had 4 kids she beat mercilessly and murdered two of them and stuck them in a freezer. It has been awful weather and humanity lately.
DeleteWow, a haiku, smiles ~ I admire how the robins appear, hopefully soon ~
ReplyDeleteSend in spring first as its still very much winter here ~ Warm regards Mark ~
May you enjoy warm feet sooner!

ReplyDelete3/31/15 0230 and it snowed then rained and then the temperature fell ten degrees meowmomma. The whole in like a lion and out like a lamb myth has been shredded and my feet are still cold. Damit.
DeleteIt snowed all day one day last week. Fortunately, the ground was warm enough that most of the snow melted right away. Standing on the front stoop enjoying a smoke, I saw a robin in the front yard staring at me as if this weather was my fault. When it flew up to the power lines, I went inside before it could dive-bomb me.
ReplyDeleteThursday it's supposed to be 70. Go figure.
aaah, i feel the same way about this darned summer that doesn't draw to a close...
