HEAD ON THE PIKE

ONE GOOD EYE

I have become mostly non vocal.
Not out of some great need
of silence or secretiveness.
I prefer to be judged honestly
for the decisions I have made in action
rather than the words of my mouth.
Lighting another smoke, I wait;
reactions will come, they always do.

  1. Sounds to me like you are tiring of blogging, friend Mark ... nothing wrong with that ... as let me tell you ... my blogging days have been over for a long time ... ever since innocent Spaces closed ... I feel like I am paralysed poetically speaking ... I killed a lot of my children (my poems) in 2017 so far ... more than ever before ... I do not care to belong to some hi flying poet publishing club in spite of their invitations ...cuz I need to be free, meouwpoppa ... Love always, cat.

    1. I am just coming off a pretty long break from the blog Meowmomma. I will admit that the view has changed though and I have become much less humanist andd far more political of late.

Joining is only an option, I have joined things amd saw them change so I left when they no longer felt a comfortable fit. *meh* Darlin' we all walk the road at our own pace.

  2. Non-vocal is protective as well as assertive, and yes, even there, reactions will come, because humans are not made to deal with silence, or I sometimes think, each other.

    1. I have to agree Joy, in going silent for extended periods the reactions do come when you act. The interpretations are a multitude and mostly because they are not properly understood in their intent. Why do I need to explain for weeks why I am going to d whatever, then explain it agai when I do it, and then explain it again once it is long done?

  3. Actions speak louder than words. Or so someone said.
I could look it up but I'm lazy.

    1. I don't know who said it either Jean but look at what senses are used with words and actions. Words are open to interpretation through personal experience; actions are seen from start to result. Only the result can be questioned. It is easier to be silent and just move.

  4. words do have weight and power, but it's also pretty easy to lie with them. It's, frankly, pretty easy to lie with behaviors as well, but it is harder to lie consistently that way

    1. Behaviors in a lie Charles must by the nature of lying be consistent, as you say holding that consistency would be psychopathic. I doubt most people are true psychopaths.

I can use words to evoke a reaction, answer that reaction and usually the reaction to the reaction is where the truth comes out--I find that a tiring exercise.

  5. Though actions speak louder than words, sometimes we need to be vocal about our disgust and sheer stupidity of some things like what our government officials are doing. We may be just a drop in that sea of voices, but who knows, it can turn the tide.
