THE LAST 55
I woke this morning with a tear in my eye. Thoughts of, Mr, Know It All has died. That this weak mortal body, can hold such a generous soul, was in him exemplified. Now kicking ass in the place where the good wake when they have come to this life’s end. Rest well my friend.

Today was to be Galen’s birthday in this place but they are celebrating with food, football and song with a parking lot full of Harleys. Galen passed after suffering a massive heart attack at work yesterday (12.9.2014)

amen.
ReplyDeleteheartbreaking. he was a good man.
Yes Brian, one of the last truly good ones, not unlike yourself in many ways. I am certain he enjoyed his life both the ups and downs to the fullest.
DeleteAmen. Rest in Peace Galen. I am shocked. Death must come, as we all know, It still is ever shocking...
ReplyDeleteMona, you and so many others I have come to care for were met on his blog, I hope the energy of a lifetime of cheer allows his light to burn btightly forever in the cosmos of all creation.
DeleteRIP Galen ~ Thanks for the update Mark ~
ReplyDeleteAlways peace, Grace. More for his immediate family than ever before.
DeleteI did not know Galen, but I do know that his influence in blogworld (and I suspect the "real" world also) was profound. I am sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteds--You know i didn't know him as long as others and only met him 3 times or so. But he laid down that 55 challenge and it made me realize that the impossible was actually possible, and that was the way he treated his own life. He just did as his heart said was the way to go and went there.
DeleteSad, prayers for his family.
ReplyDeletealways Jeff, it was very sudden and unexpected. I am sure they are devastated.
DeleteI am so sorry, mark xoxo
ReplyDeleteit's OK kj, everyone must pass through that door. I wish he'd have stayed longer but that could be just selfishness on my part.
DeleteThis knocked me sideways. He was a man so full of life and loving it, that which I read from his pages......
ReplyDeleteShadow, what you read was the real deal. the few times we met he was no different than what a reader perceived on the page. No guile in him at all.
DeleteThat's exactly how I picture Galen's new home, Mark. Thank you. I miss him...
ReplyDeleteWishing peace and love for his family at this sad sad time.
Kim if it wasn't that way when he got there I am certain he now has it ordered to his own liking.
DeleteFor crying out loud!
ReplyDeleteYep--heart attack at work. One never knows and that is the way it should be I believe.
DeleteMark, so sorry about the loss of Galen. It seemed that you two were very supportive of each other. :(
ReplyDeleteI was happy when he quit blogging so much and that he really enjoyed the past year doing what he loved to do
DeleteSuch a tragic loss. I'm very sad to hear this.
ReplyDeleteMike all i can say is me too. One of the few male friends my own age I loved like a brother,
DeleteI'm still struggling with the reality of it. It's hard to let him go. So it was a heart attack? I had wondered.
ReplyDeleteYou and I both Alice. I have lost 3 friends in the past 6 days.
