WHO GENERATES FOG--WE DO

GENERATING FOG

We stand on the shore.
The fog rises
overpowering
sights of the distant coast,
our fading distant memory.

Places behind all who sail the sea here
on winds of hope, home fires obscured

The air, our life,
is slowly engulfed,
becomes heavy,
too thick to breathe.

Sounds from the cloaked sea, muted, muffled,
opaque vapors enhancing executing movement

closer to us,
to the mind.
No more
do we light our side,
blow the horns to warn,

there is nothing left them sailing unredeemed upon the sea
or to us but the slow roll of construction, a cursed drowning

WINTER HAS ARRIVED

REGRET--WHY
In the darkest portion of my soul is a window pane
where only a skeletal bone scrapes the unlit glass.
The scree noise of the ever present, but sometimes silent thing,
brings back howling haunts of memory that never flee,
experienced life never tracked back behind me.
It taps and runs, this bony finger, on the glass.

The many fearsome long drawn out fights to escape
from the too short day to the longer night
growing a’lays darker with the fading of the light.
While the mind wanders in the midst of sleepless obscurity.
Every tap, every scrape sound triggers memory
of every blow ever struck, every piercing given by the hand of me.

Experiences with their fearsome memory, warming, comfort me,
blanket my soul for having stood alone, a human being.
Living again in the silent spaces, save the scraping noise in my mind.
Bracing for the assault memories that once were walled, blocked,
that come rushing in torrents of destruction trying to flood me with ruin of regret
to find the times for all that might have been, could have been but went unseen.

Hold back, hold back a while more says I, I fought, I warred
against the many layered hatreds lying wait deep inside of me.
For what cause do I fall into the room where in me is the evil,
the putrid smell of deadly gloom. No good can come of it,
no worthy effort shall ever arise as I remember, every drunk
long punched out cry calling from the wasted year gone bye.

I will no regret; for times and days turned to nights,
for blood spilled or men killed not slain by my hand
but my words which struck out in ferocity with deadly accuracy.
Aye there is the pen and then the sword
but first of all comes the thought, then the words.
Making the killing so much easier in the feral night.

What does it mean, this place of hatreds inside of me?
Nothing except I am still a living normal human being.

ANOTHER REASON TO TALK ONLY TO MYSELF

LEGISLATE HATE CALL IT FREEDOM TO PARTICIPATE
You can dog me about all a your religious refuse, be obtuse,
refuse me service if I don’t conform to your personal decision
on one of millions of religions.
Laws passing throughout the land
give folks a right to deny to me, everyman
everywhere guy, entrance through the door
which I’m glad not to walk in anyway
because why waste my day
on your god, on a bigoted whore?

"No one in this General Assembly
is advocating a bill that would allow people
to discriminate, he said.*”
As long as the customer is white, republican,
heterosexual, perfect in health or not near dead.
I find it extremely odd that you,
Muslim, Christian, Hindu, and Jew
tell me what gods word say I must do,
for as far as I know God doesn’t speak
openly in ears to neither me nor you.
That bullshit is for them mentally weak.

Let us continue to legislate freedom
away from all and for the few substitute hate.
If we have no one to piss on,
we have no god damned reason to feel great.

"I think you will find that, if you do your homework in it, this law is not going to allow you to discriminate against anyone else or anyone's rights in this country," GOP Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long said

Conservative groups say the Indiana measure merely seeks to prevent the government from compelling people to provide such things as catering or photography for same-sex weddings or other activities they find objectionable on religious grounds.

This is the federal law that states (22) are twisting to jump start segregation.
