THE INFINITE CYCLE
I am not a clever man,
I am not a clever man,
I have no plan to offer
the surrounding masses of people
with world wise advice.
I stay silent,
try to take in the cacophony clamoring
for the limits of an
attention span
that does not lead to a crossing over the gorge
of the ignorance I am.
Two things I do know:
If I Love, I will sure get hurt.
The only cure for hurt is Love.

smiles...you have gleaned the wisdom of life...
ReplyDeletebetter to love and hurt, than not to live...
and sometimes to be quiet...
that last verse is powerful and rings true.
ReplyDeletethe last two lines sort of capture the essence of life. Damn.
ReplyDeleteSo you start off telling us you have no wisdom and end up laying the wisdom out for us.
ReplyDeleteOh my! The disease and the cure...
ReplyDeleteThey are wise words anyway, smiles ~ Have a good week Mark ~
ReplyDeleteI haven't found my lost mind either ... yet ... but people like you make me happy and contented, Mark ... and that's what counts ... this stupid little life with it's stupid little glimpses of happiness can actually be really good ... at times ... smiles and meows, always ... Love, cat :)
ReplyDeleteWise words... and that title... There's a lot of wisdom in there too. I love it!
ReplyDeleteNever a truer paradox than the one at the end of your poem. The question becomes: Is the hurt worth it? Beautiful writing, as always.
