SHOW ME A WAY

DO YOU HAVE AN ANSWER

Tell me truly friend
can you walk in silence
from this day forward
until the end?

Or does your heart compel you
to cast your words
into the void of blank minds
with mouths that say they seek but never find?

Do you understand what man is searching for,
reaching towards or
do you simply stumble along your way
held in sway by the moment’s needs?

Rise to speak and be heard
above the symphony of cacophony;
for between each clamorous note there is a silence
where much can be both taught and learned.

Those are the precious moments indeed.

  4. I might be getting cynical. Most will speak only when they can't be heard. They don't want to be heard because they are afraid to stand for what they believe in.

  5. I can be silent a long time. Not forever.

  6. Different strokes, different realities, for different folks. We call others' reality "ignorance" or wrong ......

  8. I see myself as a teacher and I like it.

I probably talk too much since I'd estimate less than half of my chatter means anything. But we're humans and we talk.

  10. Working on a busy psych ward ... all I do is listen to silent and sometimes not so silent screams of my fellow beings ... often I go home and cry silently ... thank goodness for our (very vocal) debriefing sessions ... silence and peace is certainly not the same thing, eh? Love your writings, friend. Thanks for stopping by. Always, cat.

...Not that I know that much about quantum theory (does anybody, really?) but I keep thinking of Schroedinger's cat in his sealed box, yelling out into the Universe: "Shroedinger, you bastard!"

  12. Mark-I tend to have a big mouth with lots of opinions. I have learned to just shut up and listen more because I can actually learn something! xo

  13. I hate to admit it but it seems like sometimes I just stumble upon my way...

  14. I forge my way, not stumbling much anymore but doing what I want to do. And am convinced that if I live that way for the rest of my life--not beholding to anyone who holds sway over my soul--then I will be okay.

  15. Inside the silence
    Is meaning
    But we cannot find it
    If we do not listen

I love both speech and silence. No, I NEED them both. And I need to speak. And I need to be silent.
