EXISTENTIAL

Out here on the edge of reality
where potentates and princes play,
words float past with only one meaning.
We are all hell bound and rightfully so.

Prosecuted by a planet screaming to breathe
while we are choked by an almost king and his jokers
abetting, aiding in those goddamned lying schemes.
Pissed on, left wet, put up out of dreams.

There is a need to see, to understand, to know
why the fuck the nakedly arrogant have all the luck.
Why aren’t they buried in the graveyards
dug by their tongue melting treachery?

Fake king and house jesters
prancing in ass’s ears proclaim
“It’s a hoax, a fake that, foggy this,
nothing to see here, nothing amiss,”

Lies murder truth and the truth--
there is no meaning to the word anymore.
Truth is a rat, a snitch, a son of bitch
with no place on the edge of reality.

  1. You have such a bite in your words, Walking Man, but do they even care. Life, especially as lived out in Washington, has become surreal.

    1. Surreal is one word for it Jeff. I think we are sliding back to the time of unregulated climate busting monopolies that will surely set us back decades.

  2. I can't say I've seen a sounder, or more potent, analysis of the evil moment in which we live, or try to--it's a world of distortions, smoke and mirrors, lies and dog and pony shows. I think what bothers me most is the faux outrage, the aggreived whines--as if the one with his foot on your neck is the victim, not you. Every word here does its job, shines its light, into the warren of darkness we feel closing in--I especially like "...put up out of dreams." The long dream of liberty so many have died for seems about to get the harshest of wake-up calls. It's a sad thing to be glad you're so old you won't have to see much more of it. Excellent piece.

    1. Joy I fell this hot mess as a clear and present danger to all that we tried to grow in our lifetime. It is incomprehensible how one man and a shadowy movement within the right could reverse so much that was already hard won.

I am not sure what will come but I am certain that it will only result in more calls to defend the indefensible.

    1. True enough Cat. One can not recognize light until they have experienced dark up close and personal.

    1. Thank you Jean, such as it was. "Acceptable" is a fine adjective.

  5. Indeed. They say living with the mentally ill, especially the ones who will lie to twist their own reality into a shape they can accept instead of the shape it is, will make you so inured to their sickness that you may take it on yourself--so many have, I can't really doubt it. I long not to be bitter again, but it's hard.

    1. It has become a sickness, this desire to get and retain "power." On the other side of that same coin, Joy, is the despair of them who feel they have no power to change anything; not the world or their own lives.

I do not feel either bitter or powerless only fairly inconsequential. That feeling too could become a communicable disease that I regret.

What I miss most my friend is peace both in mind and heart. Be well and stay the course; someone is always listening.
