EVERYONE HAS SOME AND MOST A LIST

IT’S ONLY PAIN

Her body prepares for hours to allow her child to be born, man cowers.
It’s only pain.

The bullet enters, tearing veins breaking bones, searing.
It’s only pain.

Fist smashes face, club hits head; he isn’t able but he isn’t dead.
It’s only pain.

Working, missing everything, providing, kids forgot he’s still living.
It’s only pain.

Death knocks, leaves the living behind sobbing, grieving.
It’s only pain.

Lists go on forever or to the end of time, subjective, no pressure.
It’s only pain.

    1. e I'd say about 2/3rds of my own pains were self inflicted and harder to get beyond than the minor irritants imposed on me by others/

  8. There are the worst pains: betrayal tops my list. I try to avoid regret. And my fricking back: I should help myself more.

I'm braced for heartache in its unpredictable forms. I know it will come

Mark, your comment on my blog: yes, I would love your review, feedback, anything. It would be an anxious honor on my end.
