LIVE YOUR OWN LIFE

DO AS I SAY IF YOU DO AS I DO YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG

The path to sanity is conformity, do as others do, speak as others speak, wear what others wear and when it all changes, change with it. Follow that path that is worn so deep from the footstep them whom you follow, that all you smell is the ass gas from the person whose heels you walk on, where the sun only shines in that chasm of conformity when that ball of fire is directly overhead. May it burn your ass for being ignorant of real sanity!

Sanity is finding the footsteps of another and going in a different direction, cutting your own trail to your own end. Your dreams are the first thing to die in the canyon of conformity and then your sanity follows and all hope is dead with it. Watch that god damned television as long you can, eat all the crap you can find falling into your well-worn trench, thrown there by them who made the signs pointing you to the trail and making you think it is the only one. Fucking ignorance of  conformist sanity—I hate it.

  1. Love the title and, yes, we must find and cut our own trail to our own end ~ Sadly most of us just keep on following and digging the same trench of conformity ~

    1. Grace want me to tell you a secret--every step in that trench has a door alongside it, all you have to do is recognize your habits of conformity then turn to the door and be willing to accept the unknown changes on the other side. Soon after the fear subsides you feel the cool breeze and the warm sun on your face.

    1. NEVER Erik. I'd rather stumble through the brier patch for the rest of my days than be trapped on that path.

    1. Thanks Cloudia--I am tired of having to smell the odors rising from that trench, this is my way of giving them there a chance to shower away the mud from the eyes.

  4. You know, this is one of the things I hope my students get. That they dont have to be the same, they can use their individuality - they have to take risks, but that is how you truly live. Not stiffing or kissing the ass of the person in front of you.

    1. X--feel free to read this to them and then end class for the day for them to think about what they are being turned into. Your kids are the right age to turn their path.

    1. Charles you don't blunder--you just drive aimlessly until you get to your destination. Yet i will say when you drive you do it with intensity.

  7. I have faults but conformity is not one of them. Likewise you.

No tv for me for 6 weeks. No cnn. No Donald trump. Just colors and words of my own making xo

    1. kj, I do not fault them who can not see, they took to the constructs of what they were told was normal. Normal, now that is a word rarely applied to the free. Yes ma'am keep working on that book!

  8. Yes Mark, so many are merely sheep disguised in 'fashionable' clothing.

I think that some of the lyrics of 'My Way' should be our anthem. Great post Mark.

    1. Philip--I could go along with that suggestion for an anthem of the individual who sees things differently from the mewling crowd.

    1. Denise, hi there. Trust me some of us are born to parents who did not believe in massive amounts of conformity. Though I will agree there are too many who over their lifetime give up the freedoms of true humanity.
