NOTICE COLORS

LIFE BEGINS BEYOND THE DAWN
Old blood stained dawn sky,
rust colored dried,
a memorial to every soul
all them with no life left, died.

It should be a horror of thought
yet it is not
for we have come to accept the patina
as a memorial to time gone by.

The stuff of life
is comprised of time
and our numbered days are foretold
in that rust colored dawn.

Time ends, we will never wake to it again.
Wake to this dawn and ask will I love the day
for it is the only one I have me now,
what shall I do in it? Anything but let it drag away.

I have no need nor desire to be memorialized
by the passing dawns color as the sun blots it out
for another day where I can grab a long moment of life.
Live in the day ere night comes robs us of the day gone by.

  1. So soon everything fades to rust, but you have asked the most important question:

what shall I do in it? Anything but let it drag away.

    Enjoy your Sunday Mark ~

    1. That Charles, is why I don't worry about anyone hearing my tree fall in the forest anymore. I am satisfied now whether anyone hears me or not.

    1. Thank you Philip--for awhile i tried to change my past and failed everytime so i quit that and concentrated on my future which never worked out according to plan. Today is the day for good or ill.

    1. Goatman most of us think about tomorrow or look forward to waking up once again but for me, I know life is today and only today borrowing tomorrows is like taking on a debt to a path you may decide then you do not want to go down.

  5. I have no need for a memorial, for anything beyond this moment
and hopefully I put today to good use.
Even if just for a little bit.

    1. Right on X--what good does a monument do for history? The monument one truly deserves is to have their lifes words retold for future generations to learn from. That is enough even if the attribution is to "anonymous" I'm good with that.

    1. In essence Candace. I guess the really religious people feel they are promised a tomorrow, I would like them to be correct but beyond TV re-runs there is no proof.

  7. Indeed time ends, at some point for us all. A solemn piece, and enjoyable to read. Greetings!
