CARRY THIS NOT THAT
Put it down,
Put it down,
remove it from your shoulders,
they’re angry with enough pain a’ready,
put it down,
the weight of the world is only yours to lighten,
not carry.

You are a wise man indeed! I'll keep it in mind...
ReplyDeleteShadow old friend, If i am so wise, why is my back hurting so much?
DeleteAnd I'm sure it's easier to sleep without carrying the weight of the world! btw, I'll be in DET for a few days the first of the week.
ReplyDeleteJeff I'd love to meet up but i have a son in China right now and a VERY pregnant daughter in law who needs Joann more than i need a day away from the house.
DeleteI generally remember that it isn't mine to carry. Though once in a while I forget.
ReplyDeleteYou are a wise man then Charles for as sson as you feel the weight building you just know to stope and throw off that which is your not to carry.

Brian you still think you are Superman but it's cool, like a race horse you have to walk a bit to get cool before going in for hay and oats.

ReplyDeleteto lighten... not carry - Well said!
As do we all vesper, i have decided to decide and not make myself nuts anymore.
DeleteReminds me of a short story:
ReplyDelete"Is Your Cross Too Heavy to Bear?"
The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy of a cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that other door and pick out any cross you wish." The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and he did as he was told. Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. And the Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."
That's true Deb, at least I have my one good eye and tobacco.
DeleteToo much weight lately. A lot going on in the world. I am just trying to take care of my little part of it here. Act locally and think globally.
