GRANNY'S CONSTANT PRAYER
“Oh good lord!” My grandmother’s standard reply whenever I acted
foolish. Though she counted what was foolish according to age, why she always
prayed to God for my actions was beyond me. It was prayer; sure as hell I knew
she wasn’t talking to me in her exasperation. I wonder what she’d be saying now.

ReplyDeletenever knew my granny, but my mom was some like this.
ReplyDeletePshaw! It was probably you kept her going as long as she did - at least she wasn't going to die of boredom... ;)
ReplyDeleteShe's just in you mind now, Mark.
ReplyDeleteBut all the same, you know you never fool your grandmother. :)

Grandmas always pray for their little ones... mind still does, not many of my age can say that!
ReplyDeleteSheesh, never thought of that. Granny must have worn through a couple of sets of rosary beads by now.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't she be saying "Oh, my Lord!"?
ReplyDeleteLol, maybe the same ol' thing?
ReplyDeleteSounds exactly like my Granny!
ReplyDeleteThat is still a long life, smiles ~
ReplyDeleteEverything passes as we age. Grandma remains.

I wish so much that I'd known any of my grandparents. For sure they would have been moaning about some of my actions! :)
ReplyDelete...Ah! But now the difference is she sees HIS face and hears the angels singing. :)
