TRANSIENT MONEY
ETERNAL WEALTH
I have no money to be stolen
for my wealth resides in my heart.
True wealth does not have a dollar sign in front of it.
Money accumulates but wealth slowly grows.
One can be taken or spent and is diminished,
the other is given away and returns tenfold interst.

AS LONG AS THERE IS
YOU THERE IS ME
My personal treasury is full to overflowing
and with everything contained in there
I find myself the ability to get going
to travel free, knowing you honestly care.
I am not without fault or troubles
but I am also full of wealth beyond infinite measures
not born of financial bubbles
and e'er trying to delete tax on my worldly treasures.
Once I found you and your care
I can leave my golden love, e’ry bit and part
with you while retaining every ounce
of goodness found of my own treasury heart.
I have no need to be like those silly bears
with that nose of theirs always stuck
in the jar of someone else’s honey
to be full beyond gobs and gobs of bee money.
All I want is what I need.
Most of us know the
meaning of greed but also ken
for it there is no need.
In our hearts we find our health
That’s where honesty is birthed
the grand abundance of our true wealth
our poor folk shared values and worth.

All I want is what I need...?
ReplyDeleteI'm so stealing that line Mark, but if I ever write it down, you'll get the props!!
I'm not one to blow smoke up your ass, but this trio of brilliance shows what a treasure you are to the World...Thanks
All I want is probably a little bit more than I need, I'm afraid.
ReplyDelete"the things you do for love are gonna come back ... one by one"
ReplyDeletenice...great truths and freedom found within the wisdom of these...i particularly like the last one...travel free brother..
ReplyDeleteNice. Sounds like you're feeling better. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the contingent that is rocking to the sense of "All I want is what I need" because it says everything.
ReplyDeleteThe world would be a much better place if it's entire population carried that first poem in their heart.
ReplyDeleteThe other night I went to a showing short documentary on a revered 87-yr-old woman in a poor neighborhood. The place was jammed - the product of 60 years of feeding other people's children. People cheered and did call and response with speakers - it was like church. "Wow what community!" I said to my wife.
ReplyDelete"It's related to the marginalization," she said.
It's true. From that poverty and being excluded this community built incredible strength, like most of us never know in this part of the world.
